"Safety Patrol!!!, there are kids running in the Great Hallway!" Ooops, guess those are actually robots.
5th grade had a great time racing their robots down the main hall. As you will see, some of our spectators came close to being run over.... which means those robots lost the race.
This was a great lesson of measurement. Students had to collect data while making test runs and then take the data to figure out how to get to the finish line without hitting the spectators. They used lots of math to get ready for the big race. We were so impressed with the thought processes used to calculate their results.
