What's Going on in WeBotics?

It has been an exciting few weeks. Our 1st graders have learned how to write a program that can turn on a motor, make gears turn in various configurations, and this week they programmed a motion sensor. They really enjoy the sounds they have discovered to put in their programs and learning about loops makes the sounds even better.

I am very impressed with how well they are working together with partners. They are also getting very good with the netbook mouse pad and now know how to log in to the computer. These are very advanced skills for most 1st grade students.

After Spring Break they will complete a robotic device that uses gears and pulleys. They will use this robot to learn about graphing and changes in pulley systems.
